The fields of architecture and urban and city planning correlate to each other. Planners and architects must work together to develop new city structures and urban developments. With the amount of research that has been conducted in recent years, we can expect our future to present people living in a more integrated society.
We can see from looking at the past of the United States that neglecting these related fields can hold a society back and create problems. Jane Jacobs was an activist that spoke out about this problem through her many books and lectures and she believed that this country has dark times ahead if we continue on the path we are on. Luckily there are people working in these various fields to combat this issue and hopefully our future does not turn out so grim.
Just from studying these various fields for more than a few weeks now, I believe that there is a lot of untapped potential in development and that it will only take a few more innovative ideas to bring society together.
